General Election - May 16th, 2026

  • Early voting begins May 2, 2026

  • Locally open primary elections are for Calcasieu coroner, police juror, (district 7), Sulphur mayor, various Sulphur city councilmen, various Lake Charles mills renewals, 2 school district bond renewals, Iowa tax renewals, and 5 constitutional amendments. 

  • The closed party primary for this election is for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative for Congressional Districts 3 and 4, and Associate Justice for Louisiana Supreme Court, District 3.

  • Qualified candidates for U.S. Senator are Republicans Bill Cassidy, John Fleming, Julia Lelow and Mark Spencer (3 Democrats qualified); 

  • District 3 Congressional Representatives: Republican Clay Higgins (2 Democrats qualified),

  • U.S. Congressional District 4: Republicans Mike Johnson, Joshua Morott, and Mike Nichols. (Two Democrats qualified).

  • Associate Justice Louisiana Supreme Court: Cade Cole (unapossed).
