The closed party primary for this election is for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative for Congressional Districts 3 and 4, and Associate Justice for Louisiana Supreme Court, District 3.

Qualified candidates for U.S. Senator are Republicans Bill Cassidy, John Fleming, Julia Lelow and Mark Spencer (3 Democrats qualified);
